Description

The revolutionary Haakaa Silicone Breast pump is a must have for breastfeeding mothers everywhere and really is the simplest way to express anytime, anywhere. It suctions onto the breast and then the pump does the work for you, drawing your milk naturally. So you can use it solely to catch additional milk or while travelling, or it can completely replace your electric pump.

Key Features :

  • 100% food grade silicone.
  • Saves every drop of breastmilk produced instead of losing it in nursing pads.
  • Easy to use, easy to clean.
  • Dishwasher safe.
  • No cords, batteries or assembly required.
  • Suction base ensuring your pump will not fall over.
  • 150ml / 5.4oz milk collection capacity.
  • BPA, PVC and Phthalate free

How to use:

  • Clean and sterilise before first use.
  • Suction your breast pump over your nipple. Your nipple should be positioned inside the neck of the pump and feel comfortable. If you need to release some suction simply allow more air into the pump.
  • Once the pump is attached gently squeeze the bottom of the pump to encourage let down.
  • Once milk begins to flow do not touch your pump and allow the container to fill with milk.
  • Remove once your pump is full or you have stopped feeding.
  • Place your lid over your pump to stop contamination. Store milk in a glass or silicone container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Any extra milk can be frozen in the freezer. Make sure to label your milk with a date and only fill container ¾ full – allowing room for milk to expand.
  • If you are struggling to get your pump going place a warm flannel across the top of your breast and gently massage while your pump is attached. This will encourage let down. Also catch your milk that would otherwise be lost in a breast pad by attaching your pump while feeding your baby on the other side.

FAQ

Q: Is the Haakaa Silicone Pump Manual or Electric?

A: Neither! It's totally unique. The Haakaa works by using powerful suction to help draw the milk out of your breast as a hands-free, non-electric method.

Q: How long should I leave the Haakaa Silicone Pump on for?

A: Attach your pump and leave leave it to work its magic for 5-10 minutes. There's no need to continue pumping like a hand or manual pump

Q: How do I clean the Haakaa silicone pump?

A: Clean after each use. It is recommended that you clean and sterilise your Haakaa Breast Pump with any steam sterilising system or by boiling in water for 3-5 minutes.

Q: I'm experiencing pain when expressing with my Haakaa pump. Why might this be?

A: Pain may be caused by using too much suction when expressing. When you attach the pump, squeeze the bottom of the pump, place it onto the nipple and then release. The harder you squeeze, the stronger the suction is.

Q: My pump loses suction. Why is this?

A: As your body changes post-birth, he suction strength you may need needed changes too. The most effective way to attach is to fold the flange back, squeeze the bottom of the pump, centre it onto your nipple, unfold the flange and release. Be aware that the more you squeeze the bottom of the pump, the stronger the suction. Your nipple should be in the centre of the Flange and not touching the Silicone Walls. Ensure you check your Pump for any small holes that could cause air to escape to prevent poor suction. You should also assist your breast by holding or cupping it in one hand while attaching the pump in the other to get a centre onto your breast and allow the pump to grasp a bigger area. If you still find that the pump won't suction on properly, it may be that the silicone material has worn and lost its suction. Sometimes this can happen depending how often it is used and sterilised, as well as the method of how it's washed and sterilised – the more you sterilise your pump, the faster it will lose its suction. Some mums find they need to replace their pumps after a few months while others have theirs for years depending on these factors.

  • "Brilliant product. First time I used it I managed 2 1/2oz (measured in storage bags) whereas I have never even managed 1oz with other devices- plus there is no hard work involved. I used it without baby feeding on the other side so will be interested to see if it works even better like that. Would really recommend!" ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - Pat

    Pump of the Future!

Posted by Liz on 30th Dec 2016

This pump is the most convenient for collecting milk, pumping quietly, conveniently and comfortably. It is not a puzzle when you are cleaning the pumps. You can feed your baby and create a beautiful golden stash. It helps with engorgement and it’s natural. The list of pros goes on and on. While the con is simple, it’s a one size fits all type of system. For those ladies with smaller or extremely large bosoms, you may have difficulty with the suction.

and it is awesome. My breasts are on the smaller side

Posted by Emma on 30th Dec 2016

I heard about this negative pressure pump from a friend and was skeptical, but I really Wanted to pump one side while my baby nurses on the other. We have been using it for over a week now, and it is awesome. My breasts are on the smaller side, so it looked like it would be too big, but it wasn't. I can use it sitting up or laying down, and it doesn't bother my baby at all. It is SO easy to use and clean. With an electric pump, I can get about four ounces and with this I get about three. It isn't quite as efficient as an electric pump, but is So much less hassle, it is worth it.

Love! An awesome way to casually bank some BM while nursing!

Posted by Beth on 30th Dec 2016

Love this! I breastfed and pumped for my first kid and honestly was not really looking forward to doing it again with my second. A friend in a mom group recommended this to me and I love it. I mostly use it to relieve some on one side while nursing on the other so that I don't feel I lose a ton into a pad during letdown. It's pretty great for when I don't plan to pump a ton and don't want to go through the hassle of cleaning all the pump parts. I'm exclusively nursing my 1 month old and we are headed on a trip for a wedding in a couple weeks and this is absolutely coming with me.

This is an amazing little device

Posted by Gil on 30th Dec 2016

This is an amazing little device. I recently got a Spectra S1 pump and noticed that each of my breasts responded better to different settings with the pump. So I started pumping one side at a time and decided to purchase this to have on whatever side I wasn't currently pumping. It was the perfect and easiest solution. It is also great to use while nursing. I tried to use an electric pump while nursing and it was very difficult to get set up and my baby would get distracted by all the tubing and wires. The Haakaa works perfectly for this. Great for travel as well as other non-electric pumps require you to use your hands and this does not.

Posted by Sarah on 30th Dec 2016

Super quick shipping - super compact hand pump. Got 1.5 oz in about 5 minutes. This will be perfect for pumping while nursing and quick relief from engorgement. It's so easy to throw in the diaper bag I can use it in so many places if needed.

    I like it!

Posted by Alice on 30th Dec 2016

I like it. I've saved a ton of milk from feeding sessions by using this puppy on my opposite side when feeding my LO. I'm glad I didn't go with one of the numerous knockoff's-I read that the silicone is a different type/thickness in those, and didn't want to hurt my girls in the process!

    A must try!

Posted by Hanna on 30th Dec 2016

I was finding my other breast would leak while nursing, so I bought this to capture the leakage and it's great. For no effort it really does extract a decent amount of milk. I've used it if I'm sat watching tv and pumped a bit earlier, just to try catch as much as possible. I have a low milk supply so the more I can get the better! Great product and price

    Amazing!

Posted by Dan on 30th Dec 2016

I recently purchased this product for my wife to use while she was nursing my newborn daughter. It was a little odd to use at first but once past the learning curve, my wife swears by this product. This will allow a nursing mother to empty one side while the other is being used by the infant. I highly recommend this product to any nursing mother that wants a quick pump while feeding, or one that is tired of the other breast lactating while feeding.

    Instead of breast pads

Posted by Dianne on 30th Dec 2016

Just tried mine last night... It is comfortable and love it BUT it won't replace a full pump session. While feeding, it is GREAT for encouraging and collecting the let down from the unused side. It's a helpful replacement for a breast pad. I was surprised to collect between 1oz to 2oz each use. Think of the milk collected as bonus milk, not full pump session volume :) Watch the happy baby legs, if jostled enough times after its been on a while it eventually can de-suction---although it generslly stayed put surprisingly well!
