- Agnus Castus, Vitex or Chasteberry: this herbal ingredient is good for stimulating the hormones required for ovulation, and help restore the balance of female hormones, particularly estrogen and progesterone levels. Vitex or Agnus Castus is often used when there are known problems with fertility or infertility has been diagnosed. Vitex has been shown to be more effective with continued use over time. It is particularly useful for women with:
- A short Luteal phase - the second half of the female menstrual cycle, after ovulation has occurred and before the next period occurs
- Irregular menstrual cycles.
- Siberian Ginseng - this herb has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for encouraging the body’s natural and essential energy or ‘chi’, as it is known in China. Based on this, it is believed that siberian ginseng may have a positive effect on supporting the healthy functioning of the uterus, toning the uterine muscles, support the female hormone levels and overall encourage the woman’s fertility.
- Red Clover - again this herbal ingredient helps the hormone levels, to restore and balance them. Red Clover contains compounds similar to estrogen called isoflavones. These encourage the production of estrogen, which would obviously be of great benefit for women who have been diagnosed with a deficiency in estrogen.
