Vacuum-free feeding is the closest you can get to the baby breastfeeding, in that very little air is taken into the mouth by the baby. This means that your baby will feed comfortably as the milk flows freely, which is very like the way that breastfeeding works. How the Patented Internal Vent System or Air-Flow System in the Dr Browns Bottles works:
Dr Brown’s bottles have a unique patented two-piece internal vent system in their bottle, which fits into the top of the bottle under the teat. This vent system results in vacuum-free feeding, (referred to as positive pressure flow by Dr Browns), and is very similar to breastfeeding. Here is how the milk flows via the vent system in the Dr Browns bottles:

This air is routed through the bottles’ internal vent tube, completely bypassing the milk, to the end of the Dr Brown’s bottle where there isn’t any milk
